Rockwell Collins Supports National Pre-College Engineering and Technology
Education through JETS
The Junior Engineering Technical Society, JETS, is proud to welcome Rockwell Collins as a first-time sponsor of the organization for the 2006-2007 program year.
Working together to develop a new generation of engineers, Rockwell Collins and JETS share a strong commitment of providing students with educational pathways toward pursuing engineering and technology based careers. Every year, JETS is impacting a diverse group of high school students through its academic programs and resources that illustrate real-life engineering teamwork and promote problem solving skills. Rockwell Collins' support will directly impact the more than 40,000 students and 6,000 high schools across the United States participating in JETS programs.
"JETS is proud to have Rockwell Collins support our high school engineering education programs," said Leann Yoder, JETS executive director. "This level of commitment exemplifies the investment Rockwell Collins is making to the education of our nation's youth. Their desire to connect with today's students will truly make a difference in fostering the industry's workforce pipeline by providing more students an opportunity to learn about engineering and technology careers."
Programs coordinated by JETS not only promote engineering professions, but allow students to experience first-hand what such careers can hold for their futures. "JETS is an opportunity for us to further our corporate responsibility to support organizations that promote and encourage math, science, engineering, and technology to students," said Nan Mattai, Senior Vice President, Engineering and Technology for Rockwell Collins.
